Latest News from the Pediatrician...

So, Little Man saw his pediatrician today, and received fantastic marks all around.

He is 32.5 inches long (the doctor said he is pretty sure Nolan is the longest 9 month old he's seen), and is WAY off the charts for height. He is where most 14-16 month old children would be... Go figure.

Nolan weighs in at 25 pounds, which is in the 96%. He's actually a little bit underweight for his height, but at a healthy weight so the doctor isn't worried at all. He just said "if he's hungry, let the man eat!"

Passed all his development tests with flying colors. He's exactly where he's supposed to be for dexterity and balance, and a little ahead in communication, if anything...

So, yay baby!!!!

6-month Check-up...

Nolan had his 6-month check-up today, and he's STILL a huge boy. He weighed in at 21 pounds, 7 ounces, and was over 29 inches long!! Off the charts large in both categories, once again. :)

The doctor was laughing at him the whole appointment, because he was giggling and blowing raspberries the entire time. She said he's a very active baby, and right on or ahead of schedule in all of his development milestones. So, the neck is A-OK, and everything else is going very well!

We have a TOOTH!

Its official! Nolan cut his very first tooth two days after his 6-month birthday! He was so fussy last week, we actually took him to the doctor on Thursday. Dr. Howard couldn't find anything to point to the cause of our little man's distress, but we found out on Sunday! Its the cutest little tooth I've ever seen!!! :)

And for the Grandmas out there, here are a couple more pics!

And now he can hold his bottle on his own!

I'm missing all the firsts today.... *sob*

Shawn just sent me a video clip on my phone with Nolan eating a bottle all my himself. I HATE being a working mom.

NOLAN ROLLED OVER!!!!!

On his own. And I missed it... I'm going to lock myself in the bathroom and cry for a bit, but I thought I'd let you know. He's getting so BIG!!!! My little guy is growing up... :)

Health Update...

Nolan saw his physical therapist yesterday, who says he's still making great progress. Still needs to come in twice a month to be checked out, but she is confident that his problem is nothing more than growing too fast for his muscles to keep up. Good news!

On that note, our little guy also saw his doctor yesterday for his four month appointment... He is 18 pounds, 7 ounces, and 28 inches long. Off the charts large in both categories - again! He has officially moved into a toddler seat (rear facing of course) because he's too big for his carrier seat.

He did get a little sick from his vaccinations, and has been running a fever since last night. I found out last night that when he's not feeling well, Nolan wants his daddy. When we got home from the doctor, Nolan was only calm with his daddy. Good thing I'm at work and daddy's home with him! I always just assumed that he'd want his mommy when he doesn't feel well. Kinda broke my heart. But I understand, and we definitely had quality time walking around his room all night long... :)

Expensive Taste

So, our little guy has an expensive new hobby. He LOVES talking to Grandma Kellner on the phone!!

Physical Therapy Update

Nolan had his third PT appointment yesterday, and he is making fabulous progress. We were told it could take up to 20 appointments to get him on track, and his therapist is thinking that he may only have one or two more!

She did, however, mention that Nolan is too big for his carseat. Who would have thought that a 15-week old baby could outgrow a carseat?!?! But, when we ran into a friend after the appointment, whose 16-month old daughter is the same size (literally, both height and weight) as Nolan, we realized that we have one big baby!!

Here's more proof:

Great news!

So, we had our first Physical Therapy appointment yesterday, and the therapist does not think that Nolan has Torticollis!! (Or hip displaysia, for that matter...) She said everything looks wonderful, and he may possibly just have some underdeveloped neck muscles from growing so fast. So, our little guy is healthy and happy, and working harder than ever to hold his handsome little head up!! Still have to have the babygram at his 4-month appointment to make sure his bones and joints in his hips and neck are A-OK, but we'll take this one step at a time. :)
